Stillen IMSA Nissan 300ZX on the Dyno 2010

Steve Millens IMSA Nissan 300ZX on the dyno at the 2010 Stillen Open house. Sorry I did not get a dyno number off the car. It was spinning the tires quiet a bit on the dyno.

Josh from Stillen said :
It put down a whopping 65whp.. :)

Yes the turbos spool so fast it had issues getting traction to the dyno, even at lower RPMs in top gear.. just did burnouts..

Testing Modified Twin Turbo Pipe

We posted this a little while back on the UK GT-R Forum.

In with keeping with the mostly stock look for Jeffs R32, its going with a twin GT-RS setup, and the stock twin turbo outlet pipe. We have seen some modified pipes in the past, and decided to make one up for Jeffs car. By keeping the front turbo from meeting the rear turbo at such a 90 degree angle, it should help with the balance between the two turbos, and might even help out with power.

Jeffs car is still going together, so we decided to test the modified pipe on the orange R33 . The orange car is Stock engine, stock turbos, aftermarket downpipe, exhaust, intake, Apex intercooler, Power FC.

The starter on the orange car was starting to click, but it would start about every other time. While dynoing another car, Josh put some more pump gas in it, and pulled the front propshaft so we could run it on the dyno.

The last time on the dyno boost was about 14.7 psi and the car did a max of 346 whp. Click though for the test results.

This time boost was up to a peak of about 19 psi and the car with the modified outlet pipe did 378.3 hp , 380 hp, and 378.8 hp. Josh changed the outlet pipe back to a stock pipe, went to start the car, and the starter just clicked. Time to change the starter. 20 minutes later, with another starter in it, do a couple pulls. 361 hp first pull , then 371 hp , then back to 361 hp. Boost was around the same 19 psi, but the car was a lot less consistant.

Essex 1043 whp Dynochart

I posted the video of Essex's car up on You Tube a few years ago. Its just a video of the car running on the dyno, rear wheel drive. On a GT-R its pretty easy to make rear wheel drive. The safe way for an R33 or R34 is to remove the front drive/propshaft. The Nissan Skyline GT-R all wheel drive system is called ATTESA. Some ATTESA information.

About 50% the comments say its a GTS, because its running rear wheel drive. About 25% ask about the lights, which I have no idea over , and the other 25% say it doesn't "sound like 1000hp." Theres the dyno chart.

1043 whp. Not too bad.

Dyno Tests Gone Wrong

You Tube , harbor for internet mechanics and vehicle identifiers.

I put up a video of Essexs car a couple years ago.Its a 1000hp at the wheels car. XS took the front drivehshaft out of it, to make it rear wheel drive. All wheel drive cars, big power all wheel drive cars on a dyno are a little sketchy. They move around a lot,you have to be careful. Just about one in ten people sees this video and says "thats not a GT-R, its a GTS, its rear wheel drive." Overall, doesn't really matter. The car laid down over 1000hp to the wheels, but it just irks me a little bit. Maybe more than a little bit.

400 hp Eagle Talon breaking a strap and coming off the dyno

A few more cars coming off the dyno. Another reason I like the Dynapack dyno. Take the wheels off and get them out of the way. They are quieter, and they stow nicely in the corner when you aren't using them.

1000hp car comes off the dyno. This one is pretty crazy. That block did about nothing to stop the forward progress of this car.

Marios old car. Walking up on the rollers.
