Suzuki

suzuki
Car Review | Suzuki | Suzuki or Suzuki Motor Corporation is a Japanese multinational corporation headquartered in Hamamatsu, Japan that specializes in manufacturing compact automobiles and 4x4 vehicles, a full range of motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), outboard marine engines, wheelchairs and a variety of other small internal combustion engines. Suzuki is Japan's 4th largest automobile manufacturer after Toyota, Nissan, Honda and the 9th largest automobile manufacturer in the world by production volume, employs over 45,000 people, has 35 main production facilities in 23 countries and 133 distributors in 192 countries.According to statistics from the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA), Suzuki is Japan's second-largest manufacturer of small cars and trucks.

suzuki
In 1909, Michio Suzuki (1887–1982) founded the Suzuki LoomWorks in the small seacoast village of Hamamatsu, Japan. Business boomed as Suzuki built weaving looms for Japan's giant silk industry. In 1929, Michio Suzuki invented a new type of weaving machine, which was exported overseas. Suzuki filed as many as 120 patents and utility model rights. The company's first 30 years focused on the development and production of these exceptionally complex machines.

Suzuki_Suzulight
Despite the success of his looms, Suzuki realized his company had to diversify and he began to look at other products.Based on consumer demand, he decided that building a small car would be the most practical new venture. The project began in 1937, and within two years Suzuki had completed several compact prototype cars. These first Suzuki motor vehicles were powered by a then-innovative, liquid-cooled, four-stroke, four-cylinder engine. It featured a cast aluminum crankcase and gearbox and generated 13 horsepower (9.7 kW) from a displacement of less than 800cc.

suzuki-jimny
With the onset of World War II, production plans for Suzuki's new vehicles were halted when the government declared civilian passenger cars a "non-essential commodity."At the conclusion of the war, Suzuki went back to producing looms. Loom production was given a boost when the U.S. government approved the shipping of cotton to Japan. Suzuki's fortunes brightened as orders began to increase from domestic textile manufacturers. But the joy was short-lived as the cotton market collapsed in 1951.

Faced with this colossal challenge, Suzuki's thoughts went back to motor vehicles. After the war, the Japanese had a great need for affordable, reliable personal transportation.A number of firms began offering "clip-on" gas-powered engines that could be attached to the typical bicycle. Suzuki's first two-wheel ingenuity came in the form of a motorized bicycle called, the "Power Free."Designed to be inexpensive and simple to build and maintain, the 1952.Power Free featured a 36 cc, one horsepower, two-stroke engine. An unprecedented feature was the double-sprocket gear system, enabling the rider to either pedal with the engine assisting, pedal without engine assist, or simply disconnect the pedals and run on engine power alone. The system was so ingenious that the patent office of the new democratic government granted Suzuki a financial subsidy to continue research in motorcycle engineering, and so was born Suzuki Motor Corporation.

suzuki-maruti-wagon-r
In 1953, Suzuki scored the first of many racing victories when the tiny 60 cc "Diamond Free" won its class in the Mount Fuji Hill Climb.

By 1954, Suzuki was producing 6,000 motorcycles per month and had officially changed its name to Suzuki Motor Co., Ltd.Following the success of its first motorcycles, Suzuki created an even more successful automobile: the 1955 Suzuki Suzulight. Suzuki showcased its penchant for innovation from the beginning. The Suzulight included front-wheel drive, four-wheel independent suspension and rack-and-pinion steering—features common on cars half a century later. - Car Review

Honda Accord SE 1993, 10th Anniversary Edition Accord in the US

Honda Accord SE Coupe 1993
Honda Accord SE Coupe 1993

Mobile Review | Honda Accord SE 1993, 10th Anniversary Edition Accord in the US | In 1993, Honda introduced the 10th Anniversary Edition sedan to commemorate the 10th year of U.S. Accord production. The 10th Anniversary Edition was based on the Honda Accord LX sedan but came equipped with several features not available in the Accord LX trim. The upgrades included ABS, 4 wheel disc brakes, 16" EX coupe six spoke alloy wheels, body colored side moldings, chin spoiler, and standard automatic transmission.

Honda_Accord_SE_1993

Three colors were offered for the Honda Accord SE 10th Anniversary Edition: Frost White, Granada Black Pearl, and Arcadia Green Pearl. The 10th Anniversary models also included the same premium seat fabric found in Honda Accord EX models. The Frost White and Arcadia Green cars were paired with the same interior color as their Honda Accord LX/EX counterparts, Blue and Ivory, respectively. The Granada Black cars were paired with Gray interior, while the Granada Black EX had Ivory interior.

Honda Accord SE Coupe 1993

Honda Accord SE returned for 1993 as both a sedan and, for the first time since the 1989 Honda Accord SE-i, as a coupe. Honda Accord SE sedan featured dual front airbags; the first Honda Accord to do so. An 8-button, 4-speaker Honda-Bose audio system, automatic transmission, leather trim, body colored bumper and body side moldings were standard.

Honda Accord SE Coupe 1993

Honda Accord SE coupe included a factory rear wing spoiler which differed slightly in design from the already available dealer installed accessory rear wing spoiler. In Canada, the SE came with heated front seats and heated side view mirrors. Both the sedan and coupe received distinctive 15" alloy wheels as well. All Accord SE sedans in 1991 and 1993 were manufactured in Japan, while all Accord SE coupes were produced in the U.S. The 1993 sedan was available in two colors: Cashmere Silver Metallic and Geneva Green Pearl, both with Ivory interior. The coupe was offered with two colors as well: Cashmere Silver Metallic and Atlantis Blue Pearl, both again with Ivory interior. Sadly, 1993 would be the swan song for the SE as an exclusive, high content, limited edition Accord model. Later generations would use a "Special Edition" designation rather than the previously used "SE" designation. These models were a combination of an Honda Accord LX with several EX features similar to the 1993 10th Anniversary Edition LX.

Honda Accord SE Coupe 1993

At the end of the model life of the Honda CB Accord, a "pillared hardtop" model called the Honda Ascot Innova was launched in Japan, based on the Honda CB Accord chassis, but with a different, much more modern-styled body, taking cues from the 1992 Honda Prelude. - Mobile Review

Nissan GT-R 530, the ride of Sachin Tendulkar, India 2011

Nissan-GT-R-530

Car Review, Car Sales | Nissan GT-R 530, the ride of Sachin Tendulkar, India 2011 - Cricket god Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar’s Ferrari 360 was in the news just yesterday when the batting maestro sold off the iconic supercar to a Surat based businessman. Now, Sachin has already bought a brand new ride, a Nissan GT0R 530, which while packing in plenty of power simply cannot match the sheer snob value a Ferrari brings with it. The Nissan GT-R 530 was imported from Dubai a fortnight ago, sold by Dubai based Arabian Automobiles.

Apparently, the Ferrari 360 was sold by Sachin because the car’s low ground clearance proved to be a major deterrent on Mumbai roads, and Sachin being a driving enthusaist found it difficult to drive the car around, which prompted him to go for the Nissan GT-R 530, whose relatively higher ground clearance means that the master blaster can fully enjoy the 530 Bhp power output from the six cylinder twin turbo engine of the four wheel drive Nissan GT-R.

Coming to the Nissan GT-R 530, the car is powered by a 4.4 Liter twin turbo V6 engine good for a peak power of 530 Bhp at 6,400 rpm and a peak torque of 612 Nm all the way from3,200 to 6,000rpm. All this power and torque, when mated to one of the world’s most advanced all wheel drive system means that the Godzilla will hurtle past 100 kph in a heart pumping 3 seconds, which is ridiculously fast even by Supercar standards. The car is almost exclusively built with one aim in mind, to top the Nurburgring lap record.

The German Nurburgring circuit is the sport holy PF grains around the world without compromise that the circuit is the German ideal testing ground for both brute force and superlative handling. Oh yes, the Nissan GT-R 530 recording made at around the Nurburgring with a sparkling 7 minutes 24 seconds lap times, which is two seconds faster than the best previous complete. Now it's a timing thing that strikes both the best and ZR1 two Porsche 911 GT3 RS cave. All for just under $ 90 000. So Sachin Tendulkar last trip less flashy than the red Ferrari, but when it comes to pure performance, it is right there. - CAR REVIEW
